Flavour descriptors:
Our Vranec  is a dry red wine with a typical dark and intensive ruby color. It displays rich and long lasting aromas of chocolate, hints of plums, smoke and resin. This wine is well structured with potential for developing aromas that leave a warm and silky aftertaste.

Food pairing: Our Vranec is best consumed at 18-20°C as a perfect complement to all kinds of red meats.

Residual sugar: 2 g/l
Alcohol: 13.5% by volume

Vintage:
Overall, the year was a challenging one. After mild temperatures in February, the growing season began with several spring frosts and snow, posing threats for the yields. Fortunately, the summer temperatures were very warm, as typical for the Tikveshija region. The vineyard and winemaking teams paid attention to details and dedicated themselves, ensuring that excellent wines were produced from this harvest season. 

Vranec is picked in three harvests: from 23 to 25 September, from 4 to 6 October and from 8 to 10 October with the best possible indicators for sugar and acidity at optimum flavour ripeness. Grapes are hand picked by choosing the best bunches, and then packed in small crates containing up to 10kg of weight. This way of collecting the grapes, ensures total control over the fermentation process as the fruit remains whole. During the last harvest some dried grape berries were picked, combined with other features, it gave the wine some specific taste. 

Winemaking:

  • 12 hours maceration in presence of enzymes
  • 10 days of controlled fermentation with specific regime of maceration
  • Malolactic fermentation to fine tune acids and textural balance followed by processes of fining and stabilizing
  • The wine is aged for 4 months in bottle before release
